Tokyo Camii

The Tokyo mosque is the largest mosque in Japan with space for around 1,200 worshippers. It sits in a quiet residential area in the Shibuya ward. The original mosque was build in 1938 but was rebuilt again from 1998 and reopened on the 30^th of June 2000.

The architecture is very much Ottoman Turkish style, which is a bit disappointing as I would have liked to have seen more of a Japanese influence. Nevertheless, it was still a nice looking mosque. It was quiet and empty when I visited, so I managed to go inside to take some photos.
