FAROE ISLANDS

AROUND THE FAROE ISLANDS

April 2019 • Canon 80D camera

A road trip through the Faroe Islands is a simple and easy way to travel. The islands are conveniently connected by tunnels, bridges and ferry which makes distances seem quick and short. Below are some places that we stopped to take photos as we drove around the Faroes.

Tjørnuvík

Streymoy Island

Tjørnuvík is a village in the northern region of Streymoy Island. The village is nestled in a deep valley feeling very secluded, cut off from the rest of the world. It is one of the oldest villages in the Faroe Islands. By climbing up from behind the village you get a nice view of the valley to take photos.

Tjørnuvík is also well know because of the famous sea stacks Risin & Kellingin. The name means the Giant and his wife (or witch). You can also get another view of the stacks from Eiðisskarð just outside the village Eiði on Eysturoy island.
