Iceland is known as the Land of Fire and Ice. Why? Geologically it has everything from volcanoes to glaciers. This island is located just below the Arctic Circle it is also home to part of the Mid Atlantic Ridge of the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. It's a landscape paradise for photographers for capturing out of this world images, as well as Hollywood studios filming the latest Sci-Fi movies. There are so many natural wonders to see on this small Island, that it will make you want to come back often.
We travelled around Iceland for 10 days along the famous ring road. Some highlights for me included the opportunity to fly over the Icelandic Highlands in a helicopter, taking the Diamond Circle route to see the powerful Dettifoss waterfall and hiking to see the iconic Svartifoss waterfall. I only got a glimpse of what Iceland had to offer and will make plans to go back soon.
