Quseir Amra

Qaseir Amra is located east of the capital city of Jordan, Amman. It is a well preserved desert castle, with interior walls and ceilings covered with frescoes and colourful mosaics.

It was built early in the 8th century by the Umayyad caliph Walid II. Qaseir Amra is considered one of the most important examples of early Islamic art and architecture.
